Various special events take place at Cranleigh Methodist Church through the year such as concerts, community entertainment, meals, a dance showcase and others.
Our Christmas tea and concert, held on 16 December was attended by almost 80 people of whom over 40 were not church members.
With monetary donations from the Lions, Liontamers and the Rotary Club, the food was plentiful and everyone went home filled and fulfilled! The choir and musical interludes entertained and included communal carol signing and was most enjoyable.
The church has received many notes of thanks and praise for the hard work put in by all. These included the help from the Ladies of the Liontamers, Lucy and her family and friends who helped serve tea and the church ladies and gents who cleared up, washed up and returned the church to order ready for the service the following day.
We must also record thanks to David Every who lent us tables from the Band Room including delivery and collection, the Baptist Church for lending us a most useful trolley (which we very loathe to return!) and Wonersh URC who very kindly lent us 40 cups, saucers and plates! All in all, a very ecumenical and inclusive service provided to our community!
